The start of green mobility
With the aim of sustainably reducing CO₂ emissions, STAUFF Germany has modernised its vehicle fleet - laying the foundation for a future-oriented mobility strategy. The aim is to offer employees a convenient and sustainable way of travelling between STAUFF locations and to external appointments.
Any employee can use the electric cars after registering in advance. This creates low-threshold and uncomplicated mobility for STAUFF Germany.
Our journey: from idea to implementation
We set the first example back in spring 2020. The decision in favour of e-vehicles and the establishment of a regional charging infrastructure marked the start of an innovative mobility concept.
However, there was one complication: the range of the vehicles purchased at the time was not yet long enough to cover longer distances. As a result, the cars were mainly used for journeys between the locations in South Westphalia.
Modern electric and hybrid vehicles
Today, the fleet comprises around 17 vehicles. Of particular note are two VW ID.3 Pure GOAL, which are operated over a leasing period of three years and set new standards with a maximum range of 381 kilometres. The increased range makes utilisation easier and more flexible. The first journeys to customers, supplier visits or the airport have already been made with the new vehicles. That shows: The concept is working.
Infrastructure on the upswing
New charging points at the locations in Werdohl, Meinerzhagen, Plettenberg-Ohle and Neuenrade-Küntrop ensure that the fleet is always ready for use - a decisive factor for the success of the e-mobility strategy. A total of seven charging stations are currently available, each with two charging points.
Sustainability and outlook
In addition to the vehicles, STAUFF is continuously investing in sustainable mobility solutions. One new component is the bicycle and e-bike leasing programme, which opens up further environmentally friendly options. This means that anyone who lives close to their workplace has an easy way of travelling to work by bike, which is not only good for the environment but also for their own health.
